How Is A Pimple Formed?
A pimple begins when there is a blockage to a sebaceous gland. We have dead skin cells on the surface of our skin, which can combine with excess sebum (oil), to form a plug in a pore or hair follicle. Oxygen is no longer able to penetrate into the pore, allowing for bacteria to begin building. Even though the gland is now blocked, sebum continues to create and the plugged gland becomes larger. This causes intense inflammation and results in the formation of a pimple.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?
The number of treatments needed will vary depending on the amount of acne present. In general, we recommend a series of 3-6 AFA Gel Peel treatments which are done every 2-4 weeks. The best suited treatment for your acneic concerns will be decided after a full skin analysis.
